I got a few new pairs of skis over the last couple years.

Storage kind of got to be a mess, so I made this rack.

I googled different ski rack designs. Most held just a single row of skis along a wall, held by the tips. I didn't exactly like that.

So, I made mine two skis deep (about 6") to be more space efficient (you can see 2 skis deep held in the tray). I also support the skis by the bases and not by the tips.

I made the bottom with a removable drip tray. The tray is a conveniently warped piece of scrap plywood, with some drip holes, and I mounted it a bit off level to drain any water that might melt off the skis.

The top rack doesn't support the weight of the skis. It just holds the skis loosely to keep them from tipping. I used little brass eyelets/open hooks and some thin bungee cord to hold in the skis. Also added some hooks for ski poles.

** Dimensions are 6" long blocks between skis, and 2.5" gaps between blocks. I think 3.5" gaps would have been better, maybe 7" blocks, but less space efficient.
