quote schweady: "We got out yesterday at Hidden Valley Rec Area for a quick morning ski before heading home from our 4 days in Ely. Above zero, green wax, absolutely perfect trail conditions. On our Saturday hike out to the pictographs on North Hegman, no slush evident whatsoever.

Like the wood Ruuds- classics! Believe Asnes manufactured these.

Due to work it's been a while since I've been home but there hasn't been much snow since so I would guess slush is rare. Check out the North Arm Trails (up the Echo and down the North Arm Road a mile or so past Slim Lake entry) for some fantastic wilderness trails.

I'm heading up to Ely for the weekend to do some skiing. I know the groomed trails are in good shape, but wondering if anyone here knows how the lakes are? Slush?

We're gonna need our Polar wax. We hoped to do the candlelight ski on Saturday night, but at 25 below??
