How does one repair a hole/crack/deep gouge in a royalex canoe? Thanks

Well, disclaimer, I'M NOT A PROFESSIONAL. BUT, I've repaired numerous deep gouges with JB weld two-part epoxy then painted over with Rustoleum. Many I've done nothing more than that. If it's in an area where it will need continued protection, add skid plate or fiberglass patch. Deep gouges on the inside of the hull, I don't even worry about covering paint, just the JB Weld. Now you see it:

I had a canoe with one big "Cold crack" repair and it was just fine. I cannot imagine that poor boat? That was a test of time and patience to bring that boat back to life!

Somewhere out in "internet land" resides a video where a roto-molded kayak is cut in half, glued together and then put thru its paces. I believe it was done by West Systems.
