The Bondo would not set up in my garage.
I got the boat out into the sun today for several hours.
That did the trick.

RT -Thanks for that post before.
I am half way through redoing my Prism.
Man, sanding is a real pain. Literally, my arms and back are pretty sore form the hours spent yesterday.
I used the Bondo fiberglass resin. Make sure the can shakes with fluid at the store. I had two cans in a row in which the resin was solidified. (3rd time was a charm.)
I have some 400 grit ready to go after everything sets up tonight.

Has anyone used THIS to refinish their canoe? I used the Bondo fiberglass resin last time and just a few short years later it is already chipping or "alligator scaling" along much of the bottom of the canoe.

My brother and I will be refinishing a Wenonah BW canoe this spring. I have received two different answers as far as what to use on the bottom.
One very respected place says to use three coats of varnish.
Another respected place says to use two to three coats of vinylester or polyester and then the varnish.

Looking for some other opinions. As you can see in some of the pictures, the kevlar is showing in some spots.

Thanks

If you haven't already I would suggest going to the wenonah website and send them an email asking for instructions for refinishing your canoe. I recently requested this info from them and they were very helpful.

A little late on the repost; but I refinished my used canoe a few years ago.

Here is the link to my experience.
