Some of the areas that had a low percentage the last few years were areas like Bald Eagle-Isabella lake, Tomahawk trail area,these areas did not have a season this year, because of the fire,thus the success rate is inflated when trying to compare to the past.

I think your right about that.. Sadly there wont be a moose season if the population keeps declining

Read an article today on the MN moose hunt. If memory serves correctly, 54 were taken out of 94 tags. Not bad. They wrote that the percentage was high over the last few years. I think that is because they cut the number of tags in half though.
