I have found reference to an available NiMH battery pack that looks just like a pair of AA NiMH batteries, may need some hands on looking to determine if AA can be used.

On a recent trip my 62st fell into some shallow water, and that was the end of that unit. Wondering if anyone here is looking to unload a 64. Thanks in advance for considering!

Mark, wanna drop a few $$$?

Ebay used at a good price-
The new ones around $250 not bad. I've bought 2 older models with great results as with other gear.
Garmin GPS 66 series Look great for an upgrade, larger screen and satellite messaging incorporated.

Hey, Ken! Saw I could get a new one around 250, but thought I would check here first; figured you might already have 2 or 3 of the 66 series! I have an inReach, so no need for the 66 at this time-until I drop it into a lake...

With Garmin's move to a rechargeable battery system, I have mixed feelings about "upgrading" to the newly designed 66i. I'm usually an earlier-than-most gadget adaptor, but my 64st is working just fine with its 2 easily replaceable AA lithium batteries.

This forum will be the first to know if it ever comes up for sale.

Sorry Mark, no extras. The extra units I buy are for friends who ask and want them with maps setup. I feel similar as I carry a PLB, but may reconsider as I've become old a belt+suspenders mentality has set in.
