When you use something once a year or so, you have to re-learn all over again.

I got my 66i out this morning, logged on to garmin explore site to purchase a freedom plan, and after a while, the unit finally phoned home. Yay.

Last year (first year with device) I don't think the weather forecast was up and running. It is working now. I tested it this morning...the basic forecast is decent. Pretty excited about that.

Another thing to do, turn it on with a good field of view for the sats. Leave sit for 15 minutes with good sat fixes. This will update position and time almanacks in the system. It's a good idea to do this after any long downtime or change in location 200+ miles.
