You can always re-transfer that data to your 62, just remember to check 'Tracks' this time. (At least, that's how it is in BaseCamp.) Also, if you are using the bwca-portage-tracks.gpx file, I find it helpful to delete the waypoints marking the portage ends that come with the bwca-camp+port-wpt.gpx file. They just seem redundant when the portage tracks are already present. Also, you can import all of the data into BaseCamp and then selectively make folders for data you might want for individual trips. Then load the subset onto your 62 instead of the whole lot of it. You may see a bit quicker response from the unit, and avoid bumping up against maximum data limits. I use a Mac and love BaseCamp; I've never had to use MapSource. Remember to copy a backup of your 62 from time to time. It will show up as an external drive whose contents can be copied to your PC. That has saved me a couple of times. Good luck. |

I did, however, get Mapsource to install and loaded the MN topo maps into it from GPSfiledepot. I then loaded the campsite and portages from Campsites and Portages It all looks fine on the computer. When I transferred it to the gps I got the maps and the campsites, but lost the portages. I suppose I forgot to check one of the boxes when I tranferred it? Any ideas? This thing is making me want to pull out what little hair I have left! -Hank |
