schweady and butthead answered the question. I would just add yours must be set to north up. I don't like that on mine either. I have mine set to Track up. Very easy to change this.

I have a Delorme PN 60. My old cheap Garmin orients the screen so I'm looking at it in the direction I'm headed, this one doesn't. There's a menu item "Enable Screen Rotation" or some shit like that but it doesn't seem to do anything. Any suggestions?

I don't own one of those units, but I do see on page 14 of this manual that 'MENU > Map Setup > Orientation > Heading Up' should do it for you.
Garmin calls it 'Track Up.'

The 60 has a new operating system, but if it is similar to my PN40 you can, switch to a map screen press the menu button and the map menu pops up pick orientation to select North Up, Heading Up, or Course Up.

PS; Looked into the PN60 manual and,
Allow Screen Rotation
Select this check box if you want the screen to rotate when you view the device upside down. When rotated, the arrow keypad adjusts to match the device’s orientation.
Orientation
You can set the map to rotate as you move. To change the map orientation From the Map Page, go to MENU > Map Setup > Orientation and select the map orientation from the drop-down list. bh

Gracias, muchachos. Actually it's not that big a deal in the BW, but when you're floating a river that's meandering all over hell it really gets annoying. BTW, I have campsites and shit like that marked, it's really hard to get lost on a river.

Yeh, heading up, that's the deal. My neighbors, aka "the sleeper cell", were a little nervous about me walking up and down the driveway in my sleeping clothes sorta talking to myself and holding an unknown device in my hand. They'll get over it, or not, it really doesn't matter to me.

Careful, you might become a mapping geek.
