Ken, Thanks for the info. I will probably need to get a eTrex 20. Rick

ETrex comparrison

The 10 lacks, color screen, additional/optional maps, memory onboard/removeable, and some other features.
Save some frustration and go with a 20, much more useful. Only missing the altimeter compass functions of the 30. And can use custom maps as well as commercial, Red Pine, Bluechart, and others.

KevinL pointed this out in the 'first GPS' thread, Delorme PN30 an excellent alternative.

I received email today that the price is ending soon. Heck Topo 10 would cost $100.

Has anyone had experience with the Etrex 10? My main concern with using a GPS in the BWCA is in not getting lost. Are there BWCA maps available for the Etrex 10? Any help will be appreciated. Rick
