Old news for a lot of you but Portagekeeper mentioned the huge amount of waypoints filling his Garmin GPS in another thread. BWCA Camps and Portages can be installed as a map and not list any tracks or waypoints. It can be displayed with another map such as MN Topo. I did this with my old Delorme PN60, and just checked out the set on my 62st.
The first is just a Birdseye Topo Map, second/third after enabling the Camps and Portages map with the Topo. 4th and 5th are sat images with and without Camps and Portages (Vera portage to Ensign). Worked well with all the different maps I have installed and shows no waypoints or tracks in the manager. BaseCamp will not display both at the same time but the GPS can. Works real well with a satellite image.

Using BWCA Camps and Portages from GPSFileDepot to avoid bumping up against my 62st's data limits was a Holy Grail for me a while back. Alas, it is PC-only and I could not get a proper download of that file that my iMac could read, even after following the advice of a half-dozen threads on the topic of making the conversion. If you think there is a way I could benefit from working from the camps and portages map file in your PC version of BaseCamp, and if you are willing -- or even able -- to share, I'd be interested in giving it another try.

Are ya talking a chip swap? Empty chip for one preloaded with the maps? I'd be happy to do that. Once on your GPS you might be able to display/transfer them on your Mac.
