Just wanted to throw this out there and see what you guys think.
About 14 years ago I decided to try carrying a small light Scandinavian type sheath knife as well as either a forged tomahawk with about a 1-1/2 lb head or a heavy duty Plumb framing hatchet. I keep an original leatherman tool in a small belt pouch with some other stuff as well. I found that everything I wanted to do camp-wise I could do really really well with the "chopper", and the knife was for eating/food prep and field dressing animals and fish only.
So far it has worked really well. Now I have some bigger knives, 5" to 8" Randalls, EK's, Reeves etc. and they are pretty cool, but even if I was in a position where I was to be deployed militarily I think I wouldn't change a thing. I know this has been gone over recently in the "gear forum" but I thought in this specific forum might get some more detailed input. Thanks, Karl
