my wife had a local metal smith forge this blade for me.
i then spent the next year and a half,thats right!!,mulling over just how i was going to work on the handle.i had one on but thought it was to much,layers of leather,birch bark and wood from a lighting blasted pine in my camp.i cut that off and started over.



in the end i went with just stacked leather with red micarta and a aluminum butt.

in the back ground you can see the two knife handles i was trying to copy.my Dads WW2 Cattaraugus and a Black Jack sheath knife that i took on a few trips many years ago but was too much for general camp use.
now i'm stalled again on the sheath.i have two thick pieces of saddle leather but no firm ideas on whats next.

I like. Never done a stacked handle before, have to try making one.
