I'm planning to take a Scout group to spend a night on Drag Lake in a couple of weeks. We will enter from Drag Creek via Fire Lake. Any info you may have on reaching this lake, potential campsite locations, or other tips would be greatly appreciated.

Slowfoot creek cannot be paddled for more than about the first 300 feet. At that point the creek is just a bit wider than a canoe and reaches the first beaver dam. This is during high water this spring (late May 2014). The creek flows through a peat bog so it is somewhat walkable along the creek so I don't think reaching Slowfoot would be worse than the usual PMA bushwhack.

I hadn't noticed the disected lake before...I guess paddling into a PMA is a lot easier than bushwhacking into one.

Yep, there is a creek running from Lake 4 with a 44rod portage marked into Delta. Would be interesting to see if the creek to Slowfoot is paddle worthy also.

Campsite on Delta in the SW corner of the PMA. The PMA line runs through Delta. The site is in the NE corner of the lake on the PMA side. Another site on the east side of the PMA on Cache Lake. Starlight sits in the middle....looks like a neat place to try to get to.

TrekScouter: No info, but would love to read a report. Seems like a reasonable adventure, as you can likely camp on Fire Lake and scout the route before committing (might want to plan your PMA permit dates accordingly). Last year, in a different PMA, my buddy Tom and I would sometimes scout a route and flag it wearing backbacks, then return for the canoe, etc., and remove the flagging on the way out. (this assuming you are unable to paddle all the way... my gut feeling is expect some carrying, with those thin blue lines). Heavy emphasis on LNT in the PMA's, especially, but reckon you already know that.

Getting to this one is interesting. EP 27 (Snowbank)is clearly the closest but there are no portages to get you to the PMA. Essentially, you would have to start bushwhacking just to get to the PMA where you could bushwhack. There are a lot of trails through this area that you could also use for access if you were willing to carry your canoe that far.
The best water access looks like EPs 29, or 30. Realistically neither of these is too far of a paddle.
The closest ranger station is Ely.

We bushwhacked to Museum back in '01. Didn't know it was a PMA or if it was back then. Tried shore fishing, couldnt catch anything, but saw fish hitting the surface farther out. Walked all around the lake, it was cool. Found a dump from an old logging camp. We went in from insula with no canoes, and it was less than plesant.
