We made it. Decided to leave the canoe behind at Holt. Here’s a brief 360 video of the lake. Will post more later!

Brux. Is there anyway I could message you personally and talk to you about pitfall. I plan on soloing there in a few weeks

Congrats on making it there. Do you think it would be doable with a canoe now that you have walked in? Looking forward to more details.

Never been there (and doubt anyone else has since the fire fighters working the Cavity Lake Fire), but here is a post from someone who at least saw the lake. See link below. Looks like there is a good hill/overlook you can see Pitfall Lake from, if you don't want to do the whole bushwhack.

Take some pictures and let us know if you make it. Good luck.

Not just the PMA, but the lake itself. I'm thinking about giving it a day trip go from the Seagull side (bushwhack from Holt Lake) on my upcoming long Memorial Day weekend trip.

We didn't attempt Pitfall as we got too late of a start and had a ferocious headwind getting to the Holt lake portage from Seagull. Holt Lake was great though and very doable with a few challenges. It's a really clear lake and the fishing is great. About half way through the trail disappears momenterally. Just keep following the creek.

I wrote a little more on it replying to a post here .

Thanks for the info on Holt Lake. Was wondering how that portage was. Sounds like the fishing made it worth the effort.
