The map has been sent to me - thanks everyone. By the way, I later noticed the map current as of 2019 fires is available on the WCPP Blog toward the bottom under Forest Fire Conditions.

Hi Everyone,
If you have GAIA GPS (an app that turns your phone into a superior GPS) it shows all of Canada’s forest fire history overlaid over topo maps or two week old sat images. Combined with the portage and campsite gpx file from PP, you have everything you could ever want for WCPP.

Yes you can load .gpx files through your phone or by using the Gaia website (easier). Before departing on a WCPP trip I have every campsite/portage and my route plotted overlayed on topo/satellite/fire history maps. It’s very handy! If you need any help with any of this please reach out, I’m happy to help.

So you need to have the upgrade to the app, not the free one, I assume? But the fire maps are available in the app or did YOU have to locate them and add them in?
I use my old garmin 78 with the .gpx file on it and probably won't take my phone, but the fire map overlay of my route would be interesting to look at for sure.
I get updated fire maps from here: https://cwfis.cfs.nrcan.gc.ca/interactive-map
be sure to click on "overlays" and on the "fire history" box.

I know the park occasionally produces a map showing where the fire/burn areas were by year. The most recent I can find only shows fires to 2016. Does anyone know if there is a more current one out there, hopefully that shows the 2018 season?

Yes you need to pay for the subscription in order to use the app (with downloaded maps) without cell coverage. I think the Canadian topo’s came with the regular subscription but the fire map and satellite images come with “premium”. I carry my phone anyways for my InReach.
