However, I’ve been researching and talking to people about it for about a year. If you have done this sort of trip before and have gear or at least know for sure what gear you need it really does t take long to put a trip together. In fact that’s probably half the fun, and nearly all of the money. Our biggest worry has been food. How much? How heavy? As far as route planning, we have gone with the idea of a month is a long time and we will have a general plan with a plan to deviate if we want to. We fish a lot, and one of my friends always says “ never leave good fishing to find good fishing “ "
Figured I would drive up to the area, but it would be beyond fun to get a float plane flight into the park! What I would really love to do is get a flight into the park and have to paddle back, but it seems like most videos I have seen have people flying into one point of the park and then getting picked up at a different point by float plane. In any situation, sounds like I do not need to book float plane flights more than a year in advance if what I'm reading is correct...

If you can spend 7-10 days in the park you can be dropped off at many places and have an un rushed paddle out to the east side for a shuttle pick-up or your vehicle location.

I've been doing some long-term planning, and barring anything unexpected am thinking I could budget for a Woodland Caribou trip in the summer of 2025. I know two years is a LONG time out, but in general how much lead-time is needed to plan for a month-long trip (especially if a flight is part of the itinerary)?
