quote dentondoc: "quote McVacek: "We want to go back in June this next year. " We remember hearing about the rain in June. We had none in August, but for August it was quite cool. Rain or shine think we'll always LOVE WCPP! |

quote McVacek: "quote dentondoc: "quote McVacek: "We want to go back in June this next year. " This past June might have tested you a little. I had rain and lots of it was heavy on 18 of 26 days I was in there. Encountered several places where the portage crossed "streams" that were raging pretty good. The June of 2011 we had a single rain event that brought water levels up pretty good too. Like ya said though... Ya gotta love WCPP rain or shine. |

Early August in 2010 - Mid August. High Water Levels, lots of Water. 2011 went in mid August came out towards end LOW Water levels. 2012 I would call normal water levels, not as low as 2011 for sure. It can be hot, I have had 85 - 93 degree days, it can happen. In general August has been a good time for me, and they have been getting snow, and moisture. In general the earlier you go the better the water levels. Like nctry said, depends on your route. Skeeters bad right at dark, stays light till about 10 - 10:15 pm So long days is a big plus, Ussually light out at 5:15 am. You don't freeze your butt off in August. Berries are ussually good. Hope that helps SunCatcher |

I would say hotter, but then I've had 95-98 degree high temps in WCPP in July. dd |

I am told that fishing is less active then. I am not much at fishing, I guess you gotta be smarter than them to catch 'em :) |

quote McVacek: "We want to go back in June this next year. " If you get to the northern tier of lakes, keep an eye out for a couple of guys in solo canoes (one red; one skin/yellow). We'll be there the first half of June. BTW: It can be wet in June. On a 10-day solo in 2010, it rained for 7 days. But oddly I didn't see any skeets until I was on the last couple of ports before my take-out. dd |

I'm plannding a trip this year around the 4th of July, for around 10 days. Just me and my pup. Haven't decided where I'm going, but leaning toward Glenn Lake area, coming out of Onnie? But, that will depend upon the weather and wind, when I take off. Smaller lakes out of Leano. Also, would like to do a fall trip. But, that's a ways off. Greg |
