I'm thinking of doing a long trip next year (2015). I was thinking of doing three segments... First a seven day from Onnie to Donald. Then a 14 day hitting Irvine, Simeon, Dunstan, and Wanda back to Donald. Then (another 14 days) Paddling out to Johnson or Lund using the Minjim route and possibly hitting Irvine again. I think the fishing has great potential, but I'm trying to find out if all is doable. The middle trip has a backup plan if Larus Creek is not doable.
I'm thinking of making a second canoe available so a couple people could join me. I'm thinking if we double up the plane in and out of Donald, it could be done for a reasonable rate, especially if you didn't need to fly canoes in and out. So I'm seeing if there is any interest in joining me for the different legs of my trip.
I'd have resupplies ready to come in with whoever. I haven't heard back from Harlan, but I'd go thru him for any needs and the flights.

Were it to work out for me, i'd prefer to just grab a canoe on station over shipping a canoe. Sounds cheaper too. I'd think that a passenger going in and one going out would make for a cheaper flight, as would no canoe. I'd even suggest buying the entire package at once and just split the cost. That way everyone shares the cost of transporting the canoe, and possibly get a better price for all by buying so many flights together. "
Kind of my thinking as far as the extra canoe...
Over weight? PITA? Out of shape... Me too. But I'm going to do something about it. Getting the body in shape is a big deal. Driving cross country put some pounds on me. PITA? Even there you can work on yourself. Getting yourself in good shape is uplifting and an attitude changer imo.

It's possible to extend the second or third leg to twenty one days. Lot's of options.

Were it to work out for me, i'd prefer to just grab a canoe on station over shipping a canoe. Sounds cheaper too. The "provided canoe" seems like the easiest set-up and gets my vote.

I've been on the Onnie to Telescope portages and I didn't think they were that bad. It's a good way to get into the park fast. Going thru Johnson has it's own issues and we could use the Boat tow to Douglas which might be kind of fun and do what Andy and J Cav did and go thru Embryo to Telescope and beyond. I've done that too accept the water tow. I'd be coming out Johnson in the end. But if I liked the water tow I'd go out that way too. None the less there are options! My vote would be go in Onnie so we could use the "extra" time to head thru to the Haggart area and or Bulging and up to Donald.

Me again.
You asked about my trip report in another topic, and thought my reply might be closer to "on topic" here. It's not WCPP specific, but relates to your topic.
My WCPP trip was in part a disaster, and yet it changed my life. Or rather it allowed my to face some realities I had just been avoiding. I've had difficulty in describing the experience, and lacked the time to give it my attention. But thanks to my WCPP trip, that will soon change. My whole life is changing. For the last 15 years I have been "the owner" and for 12 years before that I was "the boss". i know how my transition will start, but I have no idea what "normal" life is, so I am hesitant to plan too far ahead.
In part I think I've been unable to finish my trip report because my trip isn't really over yet.

I might be up for such a trip. Can you narrow down the dates a little? I would not want to push the season on a long trip. I have the time to do 14-21 days. Keep me informed.
