Muddy, make sure you bring those bags this fall to the Challenge - I am interested to check them out.

It is a little slippery like silnylon but also has a Plasticky feel that the needle punches through. It’s not difficult if you are used to sil. I think I would trust a sewn-only seam on the thicker cuben, it on the .5oz stuff I used the sewn+taped felt pretty bombproof.

Interesting! What was the cuben fiber material like to sew? I've never used it for anything (yet).

To those like me who like to sew their own gear:
I was curious about working with cuben fiber/ dyneema fabric so I ordered a drybag kit from ripstopbytheroll. I have now used it for several winter/spring trips outdoors and gotta say that it performs better than any drybag I’ve ever had. Full underwater immersion and my down jacket is still dry. Super strong and super lightweight and the best part: a homemade product I really think is cheaper AND better than what is commercially available. I ordered a bunch more. As far as DCF fabric goes: the more you use it/stuff it/crinkle it up the more pliable/ softer it seems to get.

I have been skeptical, but am now starting to think that this is the best outdoor fabric since silnylon. Fairly pricey for anything much larger than a drybag, though....
