I want to make or have one of the kids help me make this beach - really I would like several of them. Now I have to get one of them with those design programs to make a pattern.  the bench is not really paddles - just cut to look like a paddle. They do the saw stuff and I do the sanding, painting and varnish.

Wingnut, I totally agree about the leg issue. I am planning to do the "two" leg thing on both ends. Should be fairly easy once I get the top "paddles" cut. Just 2 x 4 legs and cross supports.

Interesting bench or stand. I'm not sure why it has a single leg at one end and the double angled legs at the other. For stability I'd go double at both ends.
