Nice work Savage. I sketched this out in my 3D tool. An easy print for my 3D printer. Though it would only be functionally equivalent, it would completely miss the mark on beauty. Maybe I need to get a lathe...ahhh...yet another hobby!!

I used a 1/2”x5” ferrocerium rod and turned a handle for it. The handle makes it easier to use and holds a Vaseline coated cotton ball. This fire breathing dragon creates plenty of sparks to start a fire. One strike and you have a flame. The handle is made from a scrap piece of Redwood Lace Burl I had in my shop. I sealed cotton ball end with an old cork.

Oh sure, lathe. Haha - me and a lathe - sold my dad's old one years ago. Now my favorite tools are my sewing machines and knitting needles - to each his own. I'll just keep a lighter in my pocket for now.

Hey, that is pretty damn nice. I really like the integration of the cotton ball/tinder into the whole thing. What would it take for you to craft one for me? How big of a block of wood would you need? And I have a rod that I could send your way.
