OakyDoke	03/08/2023 07:35PM   I was given the aluminum frame sans pads from a kind old-timer many years ago, finally got around to whipping up some new pads. All in all, I think I am under $10 dollars in: a small plank of 'crafting' poplar from a home improvement store, faux leather fabric pieces from an arts and crafts store and a foam kneeling pad. I kinda winged it as I went along but they seem to be sturdy enough (fingers crossed) - I will update when I can do a test run with one of our Grummans up north - hopefully in the next month or so!
OakyDoke	03/09/2023 01:40PM   Thank you for the insight/thoughts! They are fixed. After I glued the two pieces of (closed cell I believe?) foam and wood block together, I then stretched the faux leather around and used about a dozen staples to secure. I then attached it to the metal bracket with screws, sticking with the shape/template of the metal. Hoping the general shape/placement proves somewhat universal, but to your point, I should be fully prepared to go back to drawing board. Your setup/canoe looks real slick (and light! My body tells me to move on from the Grummans after some longer portages, in due time I'm sure it will happen. Glutton for punishment I guess) I take with your setup you have a little wiggle room to loosen the bracket and slide it back or forth (if needed)? I like that

Tomcat	03/09/2023 11:41AM   I can't tell how the pads are attached to the yoke. Are they fixed position or adjustable? Non-adjustable yoke pads may limit the comfort and function for others. I hope your yoke pads work out for you. I replaced the web pads on my sling style yoke brackets.
