VaderStrom: "Grandma L: "The tape is a press on double sided that will also heat bond using an iron and pressing cloth. Pellon double-sided fusible tape it worked well on regular ripstop. I haven't tried silnylon as yet." Do you have any recommendations for a double sided tape to use on sunforger treated canvas? I want to say it’s the 10.10oz weight from big duck." VanderStrom, No recommendation on tape. With that duck fabric you might try the Pellon.

Also if you are sewing a canvas type fabric, you should use the stronger thread - it comes in nylon or poly. Match the thread type to your fabric. You will also need a bigger gauge needle and change the stitch length to make a longer stitch. The tension on your old Singer might give you trouble with the heavy duty thread. Change only the top tension not the bottom. You will need to significantly tighten the top tension. My old Viking 6440 has an actual low gear for sewing very heavy things. Not sure your Singer will get through multiple layers of canvas. You can send an e-mail for more specific conversation. Be sure to include your phone number. Sometimes conversation is much faster than typing.

quote DanCooke: "Only silicon adhesive will stick to sil nylon. I do not know of any tape product on the market for use on silicon coated fabric."
Talk about a response you can take to the bank!

I found the idea on this site-U Tube video and found supplies at the fabric store. Check it out. I have not tried it as yet, but soon life will slow a little and allow for more sewing. Sailrite U tube information
What do you think? Have you tried any of their ideas and products? Sailrite-3 types of seams and acrylic seam tape

Nice video, especially for a novice at sewing, like me!
I wonder if that tape would work with silnylon. The few times I tried sewing nylon, it slippery as heck.
