I made a silnylon tent for my trip at the beginning of September this year. Its roughly 9x9, with one seam down the middle, reinforced corners and anywhere I put a grommet. I also included tie out loops from the reinforcement locations. The trip put it to the test (and my sewing). The first 3 nights we got rain, two of those nights were thunderstorms, one was a pretty big one (Sunday Sept 6). The tarp did great at repelling the rain and kept us dry as we cooked and then ate underneath it. The storm really put it to the test with a ton of rain and wind. In the morning I found it partially collapsed. The cause was from a stake pulling out and allowing the support pole to fall. One of the tie out loops also came out due to my bad sewing. However, the rest was fine and the tarp did it's job admirably.

I just wanted to post a review of it's performance and give some insight to possible failures for others.
