Been passing this forum too long.

I did not make a cover but have bought and installed 2 CCS covers, on Wenonah Moccassin and Advantage. Modified the 1/8 inch rivet head by grinding it to a cone so it fits inside the snap.

3/8 inch rivets worked on my Kevlar UL hull with a backing washer. You may need longer depending on the backup washer used.
24 snaps, 14 front section 10 rear section.

Howdy,

I'm researching the materials I'm going to need for making my own spray deck for my canoe. It is Kevlar/gelcoat boat and I'm wondering if the 3/8 stem (see link below) will be long enough to install the snaps on the outside of my canoe similar to how they're installed on the CCS canoe covers? Will I need to find special longer stemmed backs for the snaps? Also, will 24 on each side be enough for my 16 foot Wenonah Advantage? That'd be one every 8 inches. Too many?
