I am a caregiver entering a tough phase. A Hospice nurse's aid gave me these words to help me. Could someone help me with them? Psalm 18:30 II Corinthians 12:10 If you could say a prayer for my mother to help ease and end her suffering I would be eternally grateful. Bless you all, Cary |

II Corinthians 12:10 will make more sense if you read verses 7-10. And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart me. And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. Paul had some sort of disease or physical problem that he prayed for healing from but the answer that he was given is "My grace is sufficient for you." Many believe it was an eye problem (Gal 6:11) but that is not the issue. We all have thorns at various times in life. Sometimes the LORD will remove those thorns but if He does not, we can find comfort in knowing that God's grace is all-sufficient. His grace is most definitely sufficient enough for you and your mother if you look to Jesus during this difficult time. Remember, for the believer, it is far better to depart and be with Christ. Phil 1:23 |

As she completes her mission here and readies herself to return home, remember all that she has done to prepare you to become the spiritual leader of your family. The greatest legacy to any man or woman is to know that they were able leave their Faith, Hope, and Love in the very capable hands of the ones they love, just as The Lord Himself did. We are all here to help comfort and help whenever the need arises. God Bless brother. |

Praying for you and your mother. As others have said this is not an easy time in your life, or your mothers. Your strength can come from knowing that this is not the end when she passes, that you will see her again in Heaven. God will never put more on you than you can bear although at times, in our human weakness we wonder. Remember as it says in Revelation 21, 1-4 All things will be made new, and all believers will be with the Father in the New Heaven. Praying for you brother!! Bruce |

Those verses remind me that God is present and powerful, especially when we feel powerless. I especially like the phrase somewhere in Psalms where it says we can rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I'll definitely add my prayers and ask for His sweet shadow to cover you and yours. |

Mom passed away this evening. She was not suffering. After the hospice nurse came and prepared her body, her face took on a look of peace, with almost a smile, and it brought me peace. Thank you for your kind words and thoughts. Cary |

I'm lucky to have special people helping me, both known to me and now on here. They helped me to say good bye to my Mom and I assured her I would be alright. It seemed to help her and I know it helped me. Back to sitting with her... bless you all. I'll try to take what I have learned to help others. Cary |
