I thought I'd revive this old thread as it's an excellent and timeless topic.
I did my main first aid training for Ski Patrol many years ago and I've realized lately how much has changed (not to mention how much I've forgotten). I'm especially interested in updating exposure/hypothermia treatment. I recently picked up the NOLS Wolderness Medicine book and am slowly working my way through.

What new skill in wilderness survival/first aid would you like to learn/review next?
Me- I do ok at rope tying, but am rusty as I don't use that skill much. Time for a review!

I was going to teach a class to a group of 12 children on child widerness survival this week. But with temps going to be 45 they all backed out lol.
We have made a debree hut, made a fire without lighter or matches, and learned some flint knapping. I think we will keep working on plant id, different kinds of fire and improving our shelters.

I have been teaching survival class to children for the last 2 years at local home school co-ops.. it has been very rewarding
