My time in a GE hammock was short before switching to the ridgerunner, i still feel a little squeeze, but i think its a lot less. Some say there is no shoulder squeeze, i have broad shoulders, so maybe each person is different. Let us know what you think when you get it.

i used my enlightened 20 degree top quilt this past weekend at cabin, north of madison. talk about warm . there's nothing like down. quiet, soft, and packs down so nice. once my loco libre uq show's up i'll be ready for a few late fall, early winter hangs in my back yard.

Another who took advantage of the discount. Ordered a ridgerunner and lynx last night. I will likely be selling a warbonnet with UQ in the near future. Here is hoping the pinched shoulder issue will be solved.

thought i'd see what is going on in this group. after thinking i MAY quit hanging, i changed my mind. i sold my synthetic quilts to a good friend, who needed them more than i was using them, it made her very happy. In return i bought a loco libre series saver uq. i always wanted down. for the top quilt, i traded a guy a sleeping bag for a enlightened equipment 20 degree quilt.
i had kept my chameleon and dutch's hex tarp, with all the bling, so again i am well prepared for a hammock outing.
in the meantime, i picked up a 2 person solo big agnes tent, just for the heck of it, the blacktail. i used the tent at sawbill this past October for a very comfortable stay with my thick car camping pads.
never say you are done buying gear. there will always be something. happy thanksgiving!

We just made the official switch to ridgerunners, bought a couple from Warbonnet, 30% off each was nice. Thursday we put an order in for 2 Underground Quilt Bandits, and 2 ambushes. Don't ask me how much total lol.

i installed hooks in my studs in the back room to hang a hammock this winter. wife and i both enjoy the hang, reading a book, or just looking out the window at zero degrees. where there is a will- i got to try out my new underquilt from loco libre. very nice. i c dutch sells hardware for hanging an inside hammock. i must say no to buying more stuff!

Nice. I've always wanted to do that but just don't have the room. The best I could do is go from the shed to a tree in the back yard. I remember a story on this board a long while ago about a guy who put a hammock in his bedroom and replaced his bed. A single guy obviously.

Just bought my son a WB Superfly and related Dutch goodies as a Christmas gift. He saw mine on our September Q trip, and it was, "Man, I need one of those!"

I'm still piecing together in my mind the exact Chameleon setup to order ahead of next season.

I had an old 20 degree mummy bag that i use in my ridgerunner, but i wanted something smaller to pack. I waited for the black friday sales and ordered a 20 degree down top quilt from wilderness logics. Great reputation and his prices for the budget quilts are hard to beat.

I ordered a zip-on winter cover with vent for my Dream Hammock Roaming Gnome plus had the Smiths add extra zipper pulls, so I now have a Dangerbird!
I'm working up the nerve to go winter camping and possibly make it to the MN Frozen Butt Hang at Sawbill NF Campground in January.

one of my all time best places to camp, would be really quiet in winter.

That'll be the best outdoors purchase you'll ever make!!! I LOVE my RR. It's been the best night I've had outside every time...and every site I've used in the BWCA has had a good setup option. Note that it'll need a bit more space between trees than traditional gathered end hammocks and the foot end needs to be a bit higher than the head end...please post reviews for others!!!

And the RR contingency just continues to grow!!! What degree Lynx did you get?

20 degree Lynx. Now I am dreaming of sugarplums and a spindrift sock. Anyone with experience with that add on?

I had a spindrift, but sold it as my tarp set up basically seals up my setup now. If you don't have a good tarp with doors a spindrift would be a great addition. Just beware of the fact you'll have some condensation no matter what.

Arcteryx Alpha 45"will this be a canoe pack, hiking, or both?

It could serve as both. While backpacking I can get 4-6 days worth of gear and food in it comfortably using an ursack(s). If canoeing its a great pack to carry with a boat, but if going solo you'd have to be really militaristic and/or use your boat to BDB a few items to.

I cashed in two jars of change totalling just over $182. To not get charged a 12% fee by getting cash I accepted it in the form of an Amazon gift card resulting in no fee.

So I got my top quilt! I never heard of this manufacturer but read some reviews and decided it was good enough for me. It seemed like the only quality one listed on Amazon. I also had enough for the GCI Java Drip coffee maker and the GCI insulated mug. My rig just got lighter and less bulky. Merry Christmas to me!

my loco libre under quilt showed up yesterday. what a beauty. fit's the chameleon perfectly. i added 8 inches in length, giving me almost full coverage.
i prefer a shorter under quilt. less pinch on the ends.
it was the series saver, down, 30 degree. only $100.00.

This is their first generation top quilt new for this year (I think). I like how versatile it is with the pad straps and the cinch for the footbox. I checked out the company a bit and like that it's a small business.

It's odd that they don't have their own website. Everything is through Amazon with them. It's like they got funded or swung a deal with them.
