Im in for a Lake McBride paddle/hang get together. Either spring or fall works for me.
There is another area that I always thought would be fun for a walk-in/canoe-in camp. The McBride Nature Recreation Area is on the Coralville Reservoir (rather than Lake McBride) but is along the same road as the SP. There are 8 walk-in campsites along a short trail that dead-ends at the water. I have not been there in a while but I recall the sites being much better for hanging.

sitting, with coffee, i was wondering how many hammock campers here would enjoy meeting for an outing. solo boats, or tandems, on a lake, hammock gear, kind of resemble the frozen butt hang hammock forums have every year, but not in the deep freeze of winter.
i'll keep this in my planning mind, could be a great time.

Lake McBride just north of Iowa City offers multiple mature trees, not far from a beach with a nice sized lake. The Quad Cities group met there a couple falls ago and we liked the free firewood and the site.
Did you have somewhere in mind that would accommodate several hammocks? I could be in.

yes, i missed that event, that looked like a decent spot to paddle and hang. i am open to any location.

Early to mid April could be a good time for the Lake McBride hang. I was thinking about a float in the Ozarks about that time, but.... I do know by then I will be having a pretty strong itch so others with places, ideas?

I am doing a trout fishing float/hang March 1st-3rd. It has become an annual thing. I can get a little cold, but the fishing is always stellar.
