Hey all -
I've been searching the threads at Hammock Forums but haven't found great answers yet - maybe because there aren't any.

I've been having difficulty getting the tension on the ridgeline of my WBBB to be "just right" - it normally ends up being too tight and under load I can never bend it as much as Brandon can in his set up video.

Does anyone have any fast and easy tricks for getting this set properly? I spend a lot of time adjusting the hang angle and suspension straps - maybe I just need more time with it, but conditions vary so much from campsite to campsite that it might just always need lots of fiddle time.

I have a WBBB 1.1 double - I'm 6-0, 176#

Thanks fellas - I've been trying to go looser but that seems to change the angle away from 30 unless I lower the position of the straps and then I get close to butt dragging too! Will try some more this next week on trail.
Maybe I just need to forget about it!

I don't worry much about the RL tension unless it is extremely taught. Mine is usually hard to bend and I find that it is more comfortable for me that way. Everyone's different. If you're comfortable and your ridge line is tight I'd say you're doing it right and wouldn't worry too much about it.

One trick I use to get the straps higher is find a stick you can make a fork in one end. Wrap your tree hugger and clip the biner. Then hook the fork on the biner and push up the tree while keeping the loop loose by kind of feeding strap to it,(if this makes sense)

happy hanging

I, too, have a WBBB 1.7 DL. The looser I hang the hammock, the looser my ridge line becomes.

Problem is, I'm short and cannot get the tree straps up high enough. If I hang the hammock too loose my butt starts draggin.

I checked it the first few times I set up and found I was usually setting it a little too tight. I try to hang is looser than I originally did but I never check the tension anymore and I sleep fine.

Thank you one and all. I'm leaving in 6 hours for more in the field research.
