Watched part one. I was impressed by the DIY guy who uses spare parts and even grass and leaves for insulation. Shug is still a nut and always finds ways to be entertaining. The throwing of the camera makes me a little dizzy...

This was just mentioned in general discussion. I get the biggest kick out of Shug. Came accross his vids as I was reaserching hammocks on Youtube. He's great. I would like to try winter hanging someday, but need to figure out summer hanging first. Got my first hammmock for Christmas, can't wait to try it...

Damn that looks like fun. Wish I had the warm gear to do it. A frost bib, never would have thought about that. And the white man disco, too funny.
Shug sure seems like a great guy. Always has a great personality in is videos. Hopefully I'll get to meet him someday....

Every year I think I'd like to do that hang. Then I realize that I do not have anythig near the right gear to survive in those temps.

Thanks Kevin for posting this. Shug is the best, funny way about him. I learned a few things just watching this.

Man, a lot of work went into surviving that weekend hang! After watching those two videos, I have come to the conclusion that I am far too lazy to be able to winter camp at the Frozen Butt Hang with these guys (and gal).

Those folks sure know how to handle the cold.

I love to get out in it during the day though. I've been walking my dog through our local forest almost everyday and I love it. I doubt I'll ever lose the desire to get out in it no matter the weather.

+1 What he said!

Yeah, I used to winter camp with a bunch of girls when I was in my 20's and 30's and enjoyed the sense of achievement.

Now with the kids, I don't have the desire to have to work that hard to just survive the sub zero night temps. I am fine with the dips into the 10º-20º range while we trip as long as it warms up a bit during the day.
