" The NX-250 is a great hammock. It is slightly larger than my first NX-150 but otherwise the same. Since you haven't yet purchased one, if you are a 'larger' guy, heck even if you aren't a larger guy, I'd recommend that you consider the new Flex-180 model. I recently purchased one and the size difference is amazing when comparing it to my NX-150. It can be used as a 2 person hammock, but I use the extra space for my gear. The entire pack comes inside with me. The 3rd rope gives a better hang which equates to better sleep.Since you purchased the WB Super Fly, you don't need the Vertex tarp and can take $55 off the listed price when ordering.
twston	03/05/2013 12:02PM   I could not take it anymore. Just ordered my 1st hammock. The winner is NX250 with the Z-liner in camo. I was going to go with the plain green but decided to go camo in case I end up doing some stealth hanging while bike touring. Sometimes it better if the locals don't know your there. So excited. Will have to figure out the tying out to tree thing without knots. Don't know any of the fancy knots and like to keep things simple quick and easy. (Yes there is many jokes in there but I will refrain)

IBFLY	02/25/2013 09:39PM   Just decide. It's only your first hammock after all. After you buy whichever one you do, you'll learn all the things you want to change about the thing and then buy another one. Then, you will repeat this process until you buy a warbonnet blackbird. :) Or, you'll buy a new powertool called a sewing machine and make one yourself.

The 3rd attachment can even be tied to the same tree as attachment 2. Lots of flexibility.
LuvMyBell	02/23/2013 08:07PM   You have to call the toll free number to order the z-liner for the flex. The website just hasn't been updated yet. I think it $160.00. The flex already has the factory velcro to accept the z-liner.
twston	01/28/2013 08:37PM   So I am thinking of pulling the trigger on a Clark NX250. Since I have been stalking hammock sites for a while I notice that many ether make there own or use CCS(on this site) It looks like if I order without the fly I would save $55. Not all that much considering the total. Are the Clark flys good quality?(I have no reason to think otherwise) I also notice the Clarks have some curves to them. Does that make a difference in how well they keep wind and rain out? So many ?'s so little time. This will be my 1st camping hammock.
RainGearRight	01/28/2013 09:12PM   Correct me if I'm wrong, Clark owners, but I thought that their flys are "weather resistant", not weather proof. Meaning they can take a little moisture but not a good quality rain. I don't own a Clark, nor have even seen one. I believe a few members here have them. If other people have been making their own that should tell you that they aren't built to be used without a tarp of some kind. If I were to buy one, I would get the fly, just to have it, and buy a quality tarp, that you know will keep you dry. A CCS, Warbonnet or similar light weight tarp. I'm a belt and suspenders kinda guy though.
The Lorax	01/30/2013 06:43AM   My Clark tarp does not allow water through. however, there is a nylon loop where all the seams come together and I had to keep water from wicking through to that. There's a lot better tarp out there than what Clark offers.
LuvMyBell	02/16/2013 08:41AM   Clark tarps are sil nylon and waterproof. I have their Vortex tarp for my NX-150. I didn't like the coverage of the Vortex tarp even though it is the largest model they make. I purchased a WBB Super fly, again sil nylon, and like the way the ends have doors to enclose the hammock like you are in a tent. The NX -150 was getting a bit small for my frame so I just purchased a Clark Flex 180. I saved $55 by not orderding a fly. I'll use my WBB Super Fly with the Flex 180 and use my NX 150 with Vortex fly as a backup or let my son use it.
jcavenagh	01/30/2013 02:29PM   There are a lot of good tarp choices. If not to be used for backpacking, then weight is less of an issue and the choices are very broad. I prefer a larger tarp so that I have a bigger area to use, whether it is raining or not. Kelty Noah is a very popular, lower costs option. CCS is a very popular, very durable option. Ultra high end would be a Hammock Gear or zPacks cuben fiber tarp. Then there are the silnyl options like Warbonnet, MacCat, Etowah, etc. Of course, the cheapest way is DIY. you can silnyl seconds at many sources.
Woods Walker	02/17/2013 10:18AM   I have an NX-250 with the Vertex fly, I have been in several heavy rains & have never got wet. I also purchase a Super-Fly for the door closing options, it also is a great fly. When my son trips with me I let him use the Vertex with his Mosquito Hammock & I use the Super-fly. I am impressed with the quality of the Vetrex tarps construction & feel the sewing & overall quality is actually better than the Super-fly. But the Super-fly offers more coverage & is lighter. In my opinion it is worth the $55 extra for sure!!!

twston	02/23/2013 11:00AM   Dang now I cant decide on the Flex or NX250. It does not look like they have come out with the insulation for the flex yet but am sure they will. There web page (that I visit several times a week to drool) says late 2012. It looks like someone needs to update there web page. It would seem that I will be drooling for awhile since I just purchased new ski boots for an upcoming Steamboat trip.
twston	03/11/2013 08:38PM   IT SHOWED UP TODAY!!!!YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Made a tripod deal over the weekend as I do not have trees in my yard and I can set it up inside the house or on the deck. So cool..

" I'd choose the Blackbird over my first ENO hammock, and even the Hennesey that my buddy has. But,it will always come in 2nd place to either of my Clark hammocks (NX-150 and Flex-180). IMO Clark Jungle Hammock's are 2nd to none. Period. Blackbirds may be the cadillac of hammocks but Clark's are the Lambourgini......LOL
