Thanks for the pics.
I'm curious. What is the weight difference between your 1.7 and the XCL?

If I were your son, I'd be hooked now too!! What a wonderful experience you provided for him.

I went to the Warbonnet site:
WBBB DL 1.7 -- 37 oz. XLC WBBB DL 1.7 -- 48 oz.
Answer: 11 oz.

Thanks it was a fun trip, only 2 out of 7 days did we have rain. The carry weight difference wasn't very noticeable. I also only had the bug netting and left the solid top at home.

Nice pics. I take it the white rope on the XLC was for the underquilt? I love my XLC, even if it is a bit bulkier and a little extra weight.

Yes the white rope was for my under-quilt.. I am still in an experimental stage of getting my under-quilt and hammock all set perfectly. It worked pretty good.

My son and I's set up last week on our Crab, Clark, Battle, Phantom, Boulder, Hassle lake route. we were the only two with hammocks and there were others with tents. We had a much better nights rest. It was his first BWCA trip and Im sure he is hooked. He is using my Blackbird 1.7 and Im using my new WBBB XCL. Both great for sleeping and with the mosquitoes as bad as they were, they didnt bother us at all in our hammocks.
