I have had one yard test and one camping test with my WBBB I picked up this winter. Tomorrow night my son is joining for another one night hang at a campground along the Cedar River in eastern Iowa. Dialing the WBBB in for my summer trip into Quetico.

Completed three trips so far this year: 1) Merchants Millpond to visit the gators; 2) Durants Island in the Albemarle Sound, and 3) Portsmouth Island in the Pamlico Sound.

Headed back to Durant's Island for some fishing next week. BWCA/Q in the fall.

Started new years eve in my blackbird with temps in low single digits and a good breeze. Wanted to try my new TQ and UQ. Made it about 4 hours before the cold chased me in. They're only rated at +20 and my backside started getting chilly, but not too bad.

Also spent a few nights in February on a trip to the Chiricahuas in Arizona.

Next scheduled hanging will come on a trip to the Olympic Peninsula in July. Might do some hanging between now and then. Hoping to get to WCPP this fall as well.

I've been in an ENO in my backyard for six months now. :)

Wow. Awesome picture OBX! This is my first year camping with a hammock. I picked up a Yukon outfitters hammock with the bug netting over the winter and bought a grand trunk funky forest tarp earlier this spring.

I've been out camping in early April on the St. Croix River, in Wild River State park and again up near Birchwood, WI. I'm going out this weekend to Wisota State Park for a hang and kayaking/fishing, but will be setting out 5/24 for a solo trip in the BWCA on Clearwater/Mountain/Moose. This time next week I'll be on my way. So pumped!

I'm planning to do a week long bicycle camping trip in the beginning of August. I'll be using my Warbonnet Blackbird for sleeping. Looking forward to see how it will all go.

Then, I'll be using it for a week's trip to the BWCA in early September. I'll see how I'll do in cooler temps.

Hanging on an island in the Albemarle Sound tonight. I'm a bit disappointed that, for the first time ever, we have cell coverage. This used to be a remote place.

Looks like a storm is coming ...

Entry date is May 30th. 6 nights in. Will be hanging in my WBBB XLC and Superfly. Have a DIY under quilt and using my north face cats meow for a top quilt. Looking forward to it.

Absolutly give them an overnight or two before heading out. My first time sleeping in my blackbird I ended up in the foot box all night, waking up and sliding back up towards the head. It was cold and my pad/ bag system took me a while to warm back up everytime I slid down. It made for a horrible nights sleep. The next night was much better because I learned what I did wrong and fixed the problems. Best to work out the kinks on your home field. "

Yeah...hang the foot end 6-12 inches higher than the head end. Sounds weird, but the center of gravity in a hammock makes this the best way to hang comfortably.

Does "hang the foot end higher" apply to all hammocks or just WBBBs?

We were all hanging last weekend. Made a dry run for meal options on a BW trip for six. Built a small city in a state forest near the cities.

Hopefully will get sometime in the backyard this weekend. Have to get my new gear installed. Have made some new internet inspired parts on the wire EDM out of Ti ( i don't have water jet) and need to get my snake skins on the Superfly.

Less than two weeks to go before solo.

Will be hanging for the first time ever, in 29 days, for 1 week. Just ordered 2 custom hammocks from a fella on Hammockforums.net.

2x hammocks, straps, whoopies, bug net, doule layered, 10.5 long, 1.9 ripstop... All for $115 for the both of them. Seems like a great way to get started.

Man! I'm having a killer year! I've only been out twice. Business and family issues are taking all my time.

BUT, I am treating myself right with a trip to WCPP in a month. 1 month from today I'll be in Red Lake!!!

got my new cinch buckle complete suspension from dutch yesterday and hooked it up, love the quick, easy set-up, and the 1' straps have very little, if any stretch. i will be under the stars this weekend in my back yard, post pics later. cheers.

Saw one on the road just a week ago (minus the time machine modifications). Still a sweet looking car.

Spent a week mid June around pipestone and fall lakes. Going to Long Island lake and winchell with 11 year old son in a few weeks. I sleep in a warbonnet with superfly and jarbidge underquilt. Son sleeps in Yukon outfitters with Hennessy typhoon over it and a DIY underquilt. Last year we had to wake him up every morning as he was sleeping right through breakfast. I have a total of about 25 nights total in a hammock so far this summer. Some of those are in my gear room in my basement.

Heading up to the east end of the BWCA in early August. I'm the only one who's planning on hanging, but I'm gonna bring all three of my hammocks because I'm sure there will be a number of converts.

Sounds like some good hanging being done and coming up. Ive got my Wbbb and Wbbb XLC all packed up, two superfly's in snake skins loaded. A pair of hammock gear burrows ready to go and an Underground quilts Zeppelin and HG incubator bagged and packed. Leaving in the early am and hope to be swinging in a breeze on Gull lake this time tomorrow. You all have fun now, I know I will.

I've managed six nights in the hammock this spring. Had all kinds of weather and loved every night spent. I have a five night trip coming up next week and my brother in law is coming along for his first bwca trip and those first nights will be spent in my extra Wbbb, hammock gear UQ and TQ. I feel a little bad spoiling him right out of the gate but at least he'll be comfortable at night. We are heading toward Beartrap out of Mudro for some fishing, paddling and relaxing.

So that's what's in the near future for me and my hammocks, where you gonna hang and what you hanging in?

And it's unlikely you'd be sleeping there for so long if it wasn't mighty comfortable. Ha!

I will be hittng Mudro lake bright and early on the 26th. Over the winter I got a second complete hammock set up together. So my wife will be enjoying her first ever BW hang! What's better than a floating cocoon of down with a view after a long day of paddleing and portageing!

I just got back from a five day hang. I've never slept better. Plus I wake up and don't have to crawl out of a tent.

It should apply to whipped end hammocks, as opposed to bridge-style hammocks. In a whipped end, (like a WBBB or Henessy) your center of gravity will tend to slide your feet toward the foot end. This is more pronounced in the WBBB because the footbox hangs down, but you may experience the issue in any whipped end hammock.

Spent the last three nights in the trees while the rest of the fam sweated it out in our stuffy cabin. Suckers! Honing to hang another three nights up their next weekend for a golf weekend with my high school buddies. Hope I can find my hammock every night!
