One of the new sites just at the north end of Lake One is pretty great - open, good hammock trees and ok landing. Otherwise, the first stie on the right as you enter (west side of channel) has a good landing "ramp" nice tent spots. These are usually taken in the summer months. Good Luck!

I think it would be hard to beat 1678 on West end of large south island. Open and sheltered pads, nice trails, generally very nice.

I was reading up on this campground and some people said the mice are really bad on the island during the night. Did you ever have problems with the mice?

Hi
My brother-in-law and I will be heading out in late October. We are planning on camping on Lake One and then taking day trips around. Is there any campsites on Lake One that is better then another that you'd recommend?
Thanks
Mike
