You just never know when your post will be read, appreciated, and/or commented on. Some might say resurrected...

Thank you! I am planning my 3rd trip into the BW late in August. It will be my 3rd year in a row and all Solo. Your post has hit on area I plan to cover in my 2019 trip. It is the only post or comment I have come across that address this particular issue. So, I thank you for sharing!

I am fairly new to this forum. I found it as I began to contemplate a trip to the BWCA in 2017. I have found it and our members to be incredibly helpful and supportive, and the best source of information available. I am happy to become a part of this community and thank you and those that have laid the path ahead of me.

I just did this portage a few days ago.

It was very wet and muddy in spots but, otherwise, it's a pretty straightforward trail. Also, I agree with boonies assessment on the length.

FYI
If coming from Roe - once you're in the creek, just watch for the large beaver house right in the middle of the creek and then look left. The Portage landing will stick out like a sore thumb. There's a short little finger of water you'll need to paddle to reach the landing proper.

Fisher and Mackenzie maps show it as 140 rods, but Voyageur online shows 63 rods. It is not 140 rods, 63 is about right. It took me no more than 5 minutes to walk at a slow steady pace. A less used portage, a little overgrown, but not difficult. You must paddle a good distance into the creek (several hundred yards) to find the portage on the left. Watch for narrow path through the weeds to small landing.

Just replied to your trip plan post in the solo forum, saying I did that portion in 2016. You may find some useful information in my 2016 trip report. Some more photos here
