Frenchy19: "Homesick Texan looks good-thanks for the share! Going to try the roast chicken with bacon, tomatoes and green chilies this weekend!" That one looks good, let us know how it turns out. |

boonie: "I was looking for a mango salsa recipe and the Simply Recipes one came up; it's a good basic recipe and a good tutorial on how to cut up a mango. I added some diced red bell pepper to the recipe. My wife and I both really liked it. " I'll have to look that one up, especially the mango cut up tutorial, that fruit confuses me when it comes to guessing how to work around that odd shaped pit. |

bobbernumber3: "I don't have any favorites, but I do Google recipe ideas often and look at a few sites to pick something that will work. Had a great Bourbon Shrimp off the menu in Englewood, FL so bought shrimp and found a recipe. Needed to poach a salmon filet for salads so Googled to get ideas. Would you share the name of the restaurant? I'm often in Madison and could use a good recommendation. |

boonie: "Their method worked pretty well for me, although mango is still a little awkward. It was better than the idea I came up with first time :)." When I do a mango, I first just skin it like I do a carrot or potato. Then, cut lengthwise in quarters down to the nut. Usually works. |

Once Upon a Chef I do not believe I have made one recipe from this site that I regretted. Last night I made her Baked Ziti with Sausage, and it was spectacular! Serious Eats What I really love about this site are not only the recipes, but the science behind what makes them work. I can get lost in this site for hours. Amazing Ribs This is the go to for grilling! Like Serious Eats, this site explains why the recipes work. Great place to learn about everything grill related. |

Recently, I had a great fried perch in Madison, WI and the tartar sauce was really good. I e-mailed the restaurant and they kindly sent me a recipe that made 5 gallons... I have to portion that down.. Last year, I cooked a new recipe each month of the year and most of my recipes came off the internet |

Simply Recipes has been a good resource, nice all around mix of recipes, started as kind of a family blog, I think they've expanded, added people. Some of the recipes come from a Mexican heritage, good basic stuff there. The Gumbo Pages is a good one, good basic, classic recipes for Cajun/Creole New Orleans food Homesick Texan has tons of Tex Mex recipes for main dishes and sides, everything I've tried from that site was excellent. |
