I have had a similar recipe and it was called Mississippi pot roast. Just recently did this. I love the addition of the pepperoncinis and the flavor it adds to the beef!!

I don’t believe this is the actual name for this recipe but one of my kids years ago could not remember the proper name and just started calling it cowboy roast and so the name stuck. I’m warning you - we have never made a traditional roast with onions, potatoes and carrots since we first made this.
We prepare this in the crock pot on low for about 6-8 hours. Prep it in the morning and ready when you get home from work.

1 - average size roast
1 - stick of butter(the real stuff)
1 - packet of dry ranch
1 - packet of dry aus jus
4-5 peperoncini from a jar
1/4 cup of water

Spray crockpot with olive oil
Place roast in crock pot
Lay stick of butter on the roast
Sprinkle dry packets on the butter and roast
Add water
Add peperoncini on and around roast

Put lid on crock pot set to low and cook for 6-8 hours (sometimes I will turn it to high for the last hour)

We serve with mashed potatoes and corn or salad.

Enjoy!!
