Anyway, I stopped Friday night after closing the gallery. Forty-six beers on the menu, all on tap except for one bottle offering. Four or five offerings were from Mother Earth Brewing of whom I'd never heard. I chose Imagination Land which is a nitro golden coffee milk stout. I usually don't care for nitro but this looked interesting. In short, Imagination Land turned out to be one of those really special beers that I won't be able to get out of my mind. Unfortunately, I know of nowhere else in Central California where Mother Earth has provided guest beers. On top of that guest beers are usually rotated. Worse yet, ME does not bottle. Sin Tax, another ME stout on Goldstein's menu, is a gold medal winner. Maybe I'll try that after my next IL. I think I'll hurry my next trip to Fresno and take family or friends. ME's brewery is located in the greater San Diego area. They sell home brewing equipment and give brewing classes. It's worth a visit if you're traveling in Southern California. |
