Bent Paddle is one of my favorite breweries. They do a good job of everything.

Brew Ales and Eats in Perham tapped a cask of Bent Paddle's Harness Winter IPA tonight. Oh. My. Hoppy, for sure, but also a rich, malty glass of pleasure. Obvious lemony Citrus hops profile but 5 others in there, too. Eight malts, including oats and rye. A complex, unfiltered good time. Some of the fun might have been because it was casked, but looking forward to finding it in cans, too. A 7.2% ABV that they were pouring in a full shaker glass and I couldn't say no to a second.

Found Harness on tap at the Muddy Pig in St. Paul last night while out with some friends. A pint sounded like a good idea, the 2nd pint sounded like an even better idea. I enjoyed both pints very much. I'll have to keep my eyes open for this one again.

The pic at the top of the article looks like a nonic, not a shaker. Sam Adams sent me a few of their glasses about 10 years ago and I still use them quite a bit for pales and IPAs.

quote kanoes: "whats a shaker glass? (I don't wear skinny jeans.) ;-)" This. It can be used in place of that fancy strainer top when shaking drinks, hence the name. Lots of folks just call it a beer glass, as if that's the only type. I avoid calling it a pint glass because most only hold 12-14 oz. No hipster reference intended.
