Is there a way to watch it in a lower resolution? My rural, low speed internet let me watch about 31-32 minutes in over an hour then wouldn't finish the video. May have to watch it at work?

I converted it to MP4 at the lowest resolution to make it as easy and efficient as possible for Jerry to download to Vimeo.

Okay, no more crying for me after an 800 yard Quetico portage.

Jeese, I love watching these episodes. I'm so happy that you took the time to record what you could. This is the real deal. There's big expeditions or the survival type guys that have camera crews following them and are fully sponsored but this is as real as it gets. There's no safety net here.
I remember doing the one mile bushwhack in Quetico between Ted Lake and Robinson. I remember the fear that if something bad happened in that forest I wouldn't be found in time. It's real fear. Beav must have made peace with this feeling as it would be most of the trip for him. What he did is freaking amazing and will become legend.
I hope someday this can be a PBS series because I know there's people all over the world who would be just as fascinated as we are.
Beav, gotta question. Were you concerned that a humpback whale could breach under your boat? Or that an Orca could mistake your canoe for a meal?

Looks almost as rough as some of those BW portages I tripled portaged with a third of that load ;). Really enjoying getting a better perspective of the adventure.

I wasn't concerned with orcas really. Humpbacks, however, are known to occasionally surface under a boat or ship to scratch an itch. So I did have some concerns that I would be chosen for such a purpose and at times I would alter my course to avoid the paths of these giants.

I'm hooked on watching these videos. I love the raw emotion that is shown as well as the difficulties and the thought process to tackling them.

Sorry, no. In order to have enough data storage on my vimeo account, all the episodes were made in low resolution "
Ah, gotcha. Could always use YouTube, I believe their current limit is 120 GB per video"
BeaV expressed that he doesn't want it on youtube. He likes that it is not open to the general public, just family, friends and the good folks here.

Completely understandable. I'm addicted regardless, I've watched 7 episodes so far today. So much for getting work done.
Just an idea to consider, BeaV, maybe some hi-res DVD data files could be sold here on this site, and the profits could either go to you or to support BWCA.com
Regardless, thank you for sharing this with us. The only word that fits this is 'epic'.

I am thoroughly enjoying it so far, especially the honest parts like being mad at the wind, thankful for things like hitting the dock and shelter in the middle of the night, sharing mistakes like the floating tent. That's honest adventure to me, not cleaned up, not everything is warm and cuddly. I appreciate you willingness to be real with us." Yep!

quote bbrown6057: "Unreal. Bob needs a huge S for Superman badge by his name." I had to laugh when I seen your superman comment. Prior to the trip, I was trying to find a business in Skagway to ship a food package to. I contacted Packer Expeditions (they do guided trips on the Chilkoot) via email and in our exchange of emails they found out my plan to carry the canoe over the Pass. They made the skeptical comment "what do you think you're superman or something?" I didn't take offense at this comment but I didn't forget it either.

Wow. Beav is the man. Determined. Very unreal to carry a canoe over that trail. Looking forward to following segments.

As AndySG said, the honesty brings more realism to this than any "for tv" presentation. Your subtle reference to God reflects my often mental discussions when I'm on solo trips. I cannot imagine the dialogue you carry with yourself. You must be very good company! Looking forward to my next 'BeaV fix' tomorrow. Thanks
