Pyramid State Park (well north of Murphysboro and not in the NF).
Big Muddy River 8-mile section within the Shawnee NF (Oakwood Bottoms Rd. boat ramp to Rattlesnake Ferry boat landing).

Does anyone have suggestions on places to canoe in the Shawnee National forest? I do not mean the big lakes, but quieter, smaller lakes and streams with decent camping nearby. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
