Hi Everyone,

Looking for something to do this Saturday that involves a little bit of paddling and allot of giving back to the paddling community? Merri, me, and you will be teaming up with the Boone County Conservation District to do a clean-up trip on the Kishwaukee River.

The section we'll be cleaning is from Hickory Bill's Landing in Belvidere Illinois down to Distillery Landing,
about six miles. Not much big garbage, mostly bottles and cans.

We meet at the put-in at 9:00, no need for shuttling our cars. The BCCD will bring us all back at the end in their van!

So you paddle a kayak and don't think you will be of much help hauling garbage? You pick it and the canoes will haul it! We need you!

We should be off the water around 1:00. It's become somewhat of a tradition to go to nearby Smokin' Coop's for lunch afterwards, (maybe a mile from the take-out) the best ribs and pulled pork in the Midwest!

The start off point is on Appleton Road in Belvidere.
Here's a Google Map- Appleton Road, Belvidere, Il

( We don't supple canoes, kayaks, or any other gear.)
