If you haven't been there, it is worth checking out. Last weekend pretty much had the lakes to ourselves, and the fishing was fantastic . I caught 30 Rainbows myself on Gridley Lake, and some nice crappies on Drake Lake the day before. The primitive campground was awesome. If you haven't been give it a shot, I think you will like it.

That's awesome. Thanks for sharing that. I'm going to look into it further. I just started checking it out but it looks cool. Did you go there for the stocked trout?

Dennisal - google it. It is just west of Springfield, between Ashland and Virginia, Il.
Looks to be 4 1/2 - 5 hours from me in northern Il.

The park is just northwest of Springfield.
We had a BWCA weekend there a couple years ago.

Yes, I went for the Trout, but the fishing is good for most species.
