I recently came across a song that may have created the label One Hit Wonder In the 2525 My favorite one hit wonder is American Pie. Any you remember? |

1. "Spirit in the Sky" Norman Greenbaum 2. "Go Back" Crabby Appleton 3. "Run Run Run" Jo Jo Gunne Have the LP's of the first two, never could track down the LP for Jo Jo Gunne. Don't think any went to #1, but they sure were on the radio a lot |

Don McLean, who wrote and recorded American Pie, is in the Songwriters Hall of Fame. I don’t think that would count as a one hit wonder. But here is a bizarre one hit wonder song I remember: Timothy |

inspector13: " Interesting. I do not remember any....so I went and looked and actually the song Vincent (Starry, Starry, night) went to #1. American pie was only #2 in 1972, according to some website. Imagine that. Thanks, Inspector. I have to pick a new one from the AM radio days. How about: Convoy! Everyone wanted a CB when that hit the airwaves. |

It sure did; and I’ll never forget when my younger brother’s neighborhood friend got on her CB inviting strangers to crash my underage beer party. Here’s that scallywag. |
