Love that song! Long time since I heard it. Thanks.

Speaking of songs about fire inside. From one of the best bands many have never heard! IMHO

Radiators - Never let your fire go out!

"When the odds are stacked against you, Lord you got to be tough.
You got to stand up tall, when the game gets rough.
Never let your fire go out! You might live in pain, fear and doubt, but never let your fire go out!..

Bob Seger is just my all time favorite! Maybe along with a little CCR and Frampton. Even my kids (now almost in their 50's) grew up on that great music and still love it. Just like canoeing and the BWCA, start them young and it will stick for a life time!

It's no secret, I LOVE Bob Seger.
Went to two concerts in 6 months, one in st paul, drove from gunflint to st Paul and back to grand marais after, got there at 4am, slept 2 hours then headed up to the arrowhead trail to pick up some hikers and bring them to gunflint to start a canoe trip. Decided I was too old for a turn and burn trip. That was in may, in December I headed to des moines fir another night with Bob but spent the night and drove the 12 hours home the next day.

Bob serenades me to and from work each day, and pretty much anywhere I am. I also love ramblin' gamblin' man...
The death of alto reed must have been awful for bob, they'd been bandmates and pals forever

Did I mention I love bob Seger? Lol

Good song WW, but I figured a weather guy like yourself would have chosen "Against the Wind" ;-)

Time to show my age. I've only seen Bob Seger once. It was at the old Civic Center in St. Paul. If memory serves me right, I think he opened the show, then Thin Lizzy, then BTO as headliners. I want to say about 75 or 76, that seems about right. They should have reversed the order, Seger and Lizzy blew BTO off the stage.

I went to an Eagles, Steve Miller and Pablo Cruise concert at the old Met Stadium. Eagles was last, and it poured rain. I liked all the bands. I was too young to drive so a parent drove a carload of us girls to the cities.

also went to a Heart concert at Mankato State University when I was far too young to experience what else was going on in the audience. again, I think I was in drivers training. my sister "experienced" what was going around in the audience so I ended up driving after the concert. I was so scared. good concert, tho.

I know this song is likely about relationships , breakups etc. But I've always liked the part at the end=== even with hardship ---"But we cannot be denied - The fire inside"
To me - it's a token to the human volitional power to simply overcome anything life can throw at you. "Fire Inside" ---"Fire Inside"

Then you walk to the window and stare at the moon
Riding high and lonesome through a starlit sky
And it comes to you how it all slips away
Youth and beauty are gone one day
No matter what you dream or feel or say
It ends in dust and disarray

Like wind on the plains, sand through the glass
Waves rolling in with the tide
Dreams die hard and we watch them erode
But we cannot be denied
The fire inside

The piano is crazy. I heard from somewhere it was the piano player from Bruce and The E Street Band?
