Some go to get away from people and in turn become a little too possessive of their rock that they found. Your act of kindness to help a family is something we should all remember, camping is a sporting activity, on public land, and a sportsmanship mentality must be preserved. I hope I am able to share your story in years to come, and if lucky, return the favor to some weary travelers in setting of fire and shelter.

Since we are only 2, we feel it important share our camp if folks come along late in the day and need an overnight stay. Having a 4 or 5 star camp usually means having more space than actually needed by us. We have befriended folks in need, and have been turned down on occasion when offering to them.
We have enjoyed the interaction and in one particular case at Tiger Bay, may have saved a family of 6 from getting off to a really bad start to their trip one evening on day one when they were exhausted and really in major need of an overnight right then. Not only that, they were some 2 miles from where they thought they were with no open camps available And that was at the end of the channel after the portage from Agnes. The fact that we could help was returned to me as the gentleman was a doctor and I was interested in a condition I developed. We were leaving the next day, so we helped them set up a fly and offered some suggestions after verifying they actually were receptive of getting same. In line with this theme, I am fairly sure they became base campers then and there . Suggested day trips as well. In this case, it appeared to me their trip was a lot over the abilities for all their family group. When we left at 6:00 AM, not a sound had yet come from their tent locations.

The Bdub is a park, like it or not it does not represent true solitude, at almost any time you are not very far from some other group, accept it, embrace it, if you want true solitude there are places to find it but they are not in the bdub....
