Trip Introduction:
A brief report on conditions.

Report

I spent most of a week on Brule Lake at the end of July. I'm a teacher and wanted one last hurrah for the summer's vacation. It was a marvelous time. I put in early morning and checked out several sites till I found a nice vacant one immediately east of Brule Island. The weather was near perfect--never too warm and never cooler than what a long sleeved shirt would handle. The water was warm--great swimming. NO biting flies. Mosquitoes just not a problem. Prevailing wind was from the west and pretty strong at times but my site was well protected from all but a south breeze.  In short, it was everything I had hoped for--lots of time to soak in the wilderness, read, and muse.
