Stop Nut

Bolt is less than 1/4" too long for the threads to be flush and give the installation a nice smooth finish.

Bow Thwart

Use shims or shorter bolts with acorn nuts or stop nuts flush with end and smooth. It does make a decent handle this way.

Back of bow.

Stop nut

This as a stop nut so it would never loosen. The bolt should be shimmed or cut but not as much as the acorn nut, the threads should be even with nut.

Acorn Nut

The length is too long to use bolt as is, it must bu cut or shimmed on the head end.
